I have a really short question about the books since me and my friend want to buy the English versions, too. Which version do you prefer - in case you've actually held more than one (paperback, hardcover,...) ? Since we go through Amazon we're a bit confused about them and obviously you can't touch Amazon books unless you order them. Any help is really appreciated because we want to read both languages parallelly (is that a word ? now it is *G*) - at the same time  |

Sorry, I'm not sure what you mean? What would be comparing about them? Are you talking weight, or size, or what? What are you confused about?
I always prefer to get the hardback books, they're made better and tend to stand wear a lot better. I think they hold up over the years better. But, that's just my opinion.
Just out of curiosity, what are the page counts for the german versions? With ours it's Twilight at 512 page, New Moon at 608 pages and Eclipse at 640 pages. (These are the Hardcover stats according to Amazon.)

The hardcover numbers (which I prefer too) 500, 557, 640 pages. Weird that the second is so much shorter.
Now about that question: I only own one English paperback (like I said - more of a hardcover fan if it's affordable) and it has these pretty dark grey and very thin pages I hate with a passion. Now we were wandering if all your paperbacks are like that or if it differs since we never have those thin pages in any book.

Hmmmm, I'm not sure about the pages of the Twilight series (when I run to the store later I'll check them), but it's not a common thing for pages to be like that. I don't think I've ever actually seen a book with pages like that.  So I would have to say, they're probably not like that. But, I'll double check and let you know for sure this afternoon sometime. 
And that's very weird that your NW is so much shorter.  That makes you wonder if they cut something out, because that's a BIG hunk if they did. I'm curious when you read the versions together if you find they did cut something out.

It's weird and funny at the same time, because these books just pull you in like crazy. It's almost insane as to how much they pull you in, worse than Harry Potter, IMO. They're wonderfully amazing and I love them like crazy! As for buying books, Tia, when I do buy them, I also like to get them in hardback. I have books as paperback, and while they're cheaper, they tend to fall apart a lot easier, and the binding on them does as well. |

Angel, I know you mentioned something about songs that make you think of Edward adn Bella, but have you guys checked out the playlists that Stephenie has up at her site? They frikkin RAWK and I'm addicted to the New Moon playlist. If you've not, check them out, I think you'll like them too.
And Tia, I checked out the paperback edition in Walmart today, and the pages appear to be the same as the ones in the hardback, only slightly thinner, but the same color and feel. Hope that helps.

For those Spunk Ransom fans amongst us, I just found this at my new favoritest site in the world (for the moment at least), and thought I would share. This is actually Robert singing, and I have to say, he seems to be very passionate about his music. The quality's not the best, but you get good enough glimpses of his face on occassion to know it's him.
On another musical Robert note, did you guys know that he's actually the one whose going to be writing Bella's Lullaby?! OMG that's so frikkin awesome!!

I've read the series!!! IT'S AWESOME!!! I actually work in a bookstore so I get a huge discount off them... I'm so excited for the movie! And the fourth book coming out... I've heard that Stephanie Meyer is going to release the series in Edward's POV as well so it's also really exciting!!

Thanks for all your help Cat. The page number doesn't necessarily mean they cut something though it is possible of course. My HP books differ in that regard too and there's nothing cut - it's all about the layout and font(size).
We decided to get the hardcover version after all (at least for the first two) because they're not much more expensive and we'll wait for the third one a bit.
I want to work in a bookstore too !!! *pouts*

Tia, you may want to consider having Eclipse already if you start reading twilight and new moon. Both books are just wonderful and you'll want to begin reading eclipse as soon as you finish the first two. Trust me, the books are ADDICTIVE!

I wish Edward existd in real life. I just reread Eclipse and I'm like..*le sigh*. I want him to exist but of course he can't. Damn these books give me unrealistic expectations in men.
And to answer the question, he's not using the accent. He's in accent in interviews of course but in the movie no. Of course..I'm sure if we listen hard enough we could hear a slip or two. Then again, Robert's amazing, so maybe not.
And accents are yummy. Thats why you are hooked!

Trust me, I wish that it was gonna be August 2nd a few days from now because that'd make it a lot easier than waiting. *sighs* I will, though, be seeing the movie hopefully as soon as it comes out! I can't wait! It is a LOT different than Buffy and that's what's interesting about it. The books deviate from what we used to think of when someone would say the word "vampire". So I love that a lot, that the two are different. Now we gots to get Shawn and Kim on the bandwagon, and then it'll be even more awesome! *grins* I love the actors that were chosen as well. I can't wait to see it! In the meantime though, I can distract myself with Twilight Tuesdays on MTV.com! |

Ya know, I'm getting into the fansites for Twilight, and getting really pissed off at some of the people. *sigh* I can't stand stupid people (no, I'm not being funny, I'm serious), they drive me crazy, and OMG some of these people are deeply stupid. *eye roll* I guess for some of them, they're showing their age (I don't know how old they are, but the ones that I'm frustrated with are probably pretty young).
I've read some posts from people who are really pissed off that they've changed some stuff from the book -in particular I'm thinking of two scenes that I know of that aren't in the book, but they've put in the movie. And people are pissed! WTF?! How can you be pissed when you've not even seen the movie yet? And come on, they can't honestly expect that NOTHING would have been changed from the book... I mean, how many movies from books have ever stayed 100% true to the book? It's impossible to do, what with the timeframes they have to move through.
I don't understand the negativity before they've seen it. Afterwards, if you still want to be a frikkin wanker and bitch about it, then go ahead. But good grief, you can't say anything till then! *head/desk* Anyway....
And then, just now I watched a whole bunch of clips I'd downloaded from a site, and in one of them Rob mentioned that there was a lot of negative reaction when he was cast as Edward, and he had to just not pay attention to it. And ya know what? I got pissed even more! LOL Guess I've just loved Rob since GoF and am appalled that someone could NOT like him. LOL IMO he's the perfect Edward, especially since seeing the clips I've seen.
Call me crazy, but after watching all these interviews with him, I'm a little bit in love with him. Yep, I've definitely got a crush on Robert. LMAO The boy is funny as hell, and seems to be very unsure? of himself -as Kristen had to call him out on some stuff when he was downplaying it (his musical abilities in one of them). *sigh* If only I was about 10 years younger. LMAO
Anyway.... I'm thrilled with the cast they've chosen. From all the interviews I've seen, they all seem to have an amazing chemistry with each other (and we all know how important that is), they all seem to have great sense's of humor, and are having a blast with the movie. I can't wait to see it! *squeels* Hurry up December!!

And as for you're love of Rob, you're not alone there. I think he's positively perfect for Edward and am pretty much in love with him. I can't wait to see this movie and see the amazingness that is him. Seriously, if ever I met him...I would be a very happy fangirl.
I think he's going to be amazing in this movie. The entire cast will be because they all were eating and breathing these roles. Stephenie Meyer approved them for a reason!

I really should make an actual wall with it though... yeah, I think I will. I need to replace the one I got from the movie website now, even though it rocks hard. *nods* Thanks for the idea Angel! LOL I'll let you know when I've got it done.
Man, I can't wait for the movie to come out on DVD so that I can get some more HQ caps to make pics with. These are the best quality ones I have, since they're from the official trailer.
