Rant: a fanfic idea scrapped

Man, I need an outlet to really rant about this.

Started brainstorming ideas for an action PR fic. Came up with typical idea of something that happened post DT. One bad guy who hatches a plan and goes off trying something new aside the usual thing that previous villains have done. He'd noticed that Rangers would always have most trouble fighting an epic monster, final boss, or one of their own.

Bad guy carries out his plan of a whole team of Tommy Olivers, something he gathered from alternate worlds. 6 of them, each different in the sense: Dragonzord, Tigerzord, Ninjetti, Red Zeo 5, Turbo, and DT. Some evil in the sense they were never beaten in their own realities or just plain brainwashed or something.

Kinda like thinking having each one fighting a team in reminiscent of a certain them.
Dragonzord Tommy against the Originals
Tigerzord Tommy against the Wild Force
Ninjetti Tommy against the Ninja Storm
Zeo Tommy against the Time Force or something
Turbo Tommy against the Lightspeed
DT Tommy against DT

In the end, bad guy defeated, each Tommy return to their own realities.

Pretty much asked for a opinion from a friend online, that's when the bubbles start bursting. Things were pointed out.

Really went technical and everything, oh the frustration!! Went all physics or stuff, why alternate realities instead of having different evil rangers? Why I like picking on Tommy? Wouldn't all the alternate Tommys have some sort of DNA/Power deterioration being in the same reality altogether? Wouldn't Time Force take notice the moment this guy makes his move? There isn't going to be much of a problem, since TF is good enough to mince meat their asses, obsolete Zords, powers and stuff. Wouldn't Tommy be really guilt ridden to the point of suicidal after all of that is over? If they're alternate realities, why's he a Power Ranger in all those realities in the first place?

Sigh..... the bubble bursts. I mean come on! All that brainstorming, poof! (when it came to point of pretty much going crazy and down right messing off it fitting anywhere for a decent canon universe)

I just liked the idea, in which Rangers always beat monster, we've got typical Evil Rangers giving off the most problem. So having a whole team consisting of so called 'The Greatest Ranger'.

As for the last question - even alternate realities can be very similar to the "real" one (or one we are most familiar with). For example, something can be alternate if somebody decides to walk to work rather than ride a bike. It's the little things that make up a day that can be easiest to change.

*grins* Why do you like picking on Tommy? For the same reason the rest of us do! He's such an easy target

Time Force might take notice the moment the guy makes his move - or they could be out battling something else, somebody else. I have to admit I'm not familiar with TF, so I could be wrong - just throwing ideas out there.

As for the DNA/Power Deterioration thing, I don't think it'd be as much a problem as your friend made it out to be - if they're from alternate realities, it's not the same thing as "the same person in the same time." Technically they're completely different people... just the same.

*grins* And actually - these would be very fun questions to have them bring up to Billy/Haley/etc. as the fic moves along.

Just some suggestions... LOL Because I love to try and justify things
