To The Rescue - A Challenge

A particular plot bunny found it's way to me a few days ago... but after several attempts, it looks like I just can't do anything with it.

So, I throw it out to some of my favorite T/K writers in hopes of seeing it in the future... I figure this to be a two- or three-parter.

Summary:
A few weeks after the letter, Tommy is awoken in the middle of the night by a phone call (either her mother or her doctor, maybe her father) - Kimberly has been in a car accident, and there are "complications."
If it's her mother, she's too hysterical to answer many questions.
If it's the doctor, he cannot give much more information over the phone.
Tommy is requested to fly out there... probably on her mother's behalf, since she cannot make it. (oooh Deja Vu, poor Tommy)

Tommy flies out to find out Kimberly's anorexic, and her eating habits have caused problems with her medicine levels and her bloodstream (for example, she bled more in the accident because her blood has thinned).

Explanation for the letter: Kimberly has simply thrown herself too deep into her gymnastics training - having no formal training, she's being cracked down on even harder - hence the lack of eating and stopping correspondence with people back home.

Questions to be answered:
-How does Tommy handle being called to Kim's side so soon after the letter?
-How does Tommy react to seeing Kim in so much worse a situation than the last hospital trip?
-Does Tommy bring Kim home after she's out?
-How does Tommy convince Kim to start eating properly again? DOES he convince Kim to start eating again?


Yeah, I know it's somewhat of a specific prompt, but... hey, it's an outline-ish. It's obviously up for any changes by the author, LOL

Hm....... well surprises are definitely reactions that we're suppose to be looking at. I mean it's not everything is revealed to Tommy is one big swoop.

He'd probably be wondering why of all people he's still the person that's contacted despite everything that has happened. (On Tommy's part, there's a small part of him that's wondering why not the new guy or anybody else besides him to be there for Kim, given the letter that was sent.)

How does he find out about everything that you mentioned? Does Kim tell him personally? The doctor explains to him about the complications first and then he learns the truth from Kim?

He'll feel guilty about it? It depends, him insisting her that she should chase her dream with the whole gymnastic thing.... Then again, who doesn't feel guilty? Even if we're talking about the letter being the real deal, seeing someone in a worse condition right off a car accident?

My answer:
1. A bit bitter and in confusion? I mean he's a guy right of a break up, probably devastated and hates her for it. But when he finds out something like a car accident happen to her? He'd totally feel ashamed of any ill will he initially thought about Kim.

I mean I remember laughing at Shawn's fic:
Something along the lines of Tommy angry at Kat, Kim sees him.

"I saw Kat."

"Was she being hit by a bus?"

Sorry, Shawn. LOL. Hope I'm not violating anything or pissing you off.

Anyways.....
2. He's probably too stunned to move, just standing there still holding the door knob the moment he sees her on the hospital bed, they make eye contact, something like that.
(Sorry if I'm not being helpful)

3. It's not like Kim is going to be back on her feet the moment she goes out of the hospital. Depends... Probably good enough to be cleared out of the hospital but the doctor still advises her to take rest after some point? She needs time to recover, but given the whole problem was due to her gymnastics was the main factor that caused this, I don't think both of them that the dorm she's stay at is a good place to stay. Go crazy about it. Make him bring her home, he insists on it or something.

4. He's Tommy. He's probably blaming the whole thing on himself, convincing Kim to go for the gymnastics thing. Break or no break up, I don't think he's just going to stand and watch Kim recover herself from the ordeal all by herself and leave her anorexic.
