This was sent to me through the PRUI2 yahoo group (a power rangers group) so I thought you guys might want to check it out. It is an audio interview with Catherine Sutherland from March of this year. It's almost 40 minutes long. She doesn't mention any Tommy/Kat/Kim, but she does talk about working with JDF and wanting to reunite with the cast. Here's the link: www.mefeedia.com/entry/episode-61-interview-with-catherine-sutherland/16035875

Yeah, the podcast this is from is called No Pink Spandex. It's a pretty good show, not as good as Rangercast in my opinion, but definitely worth the lesson. The host just did an interview with Blake Foster (Justin) too, as well as older interviews with guys like Steve Cardenas and some post-MMPR Rangers.

Apparently the Second Generation MMPR Cast along with Walter Jones will be reuniting in July at Anime Expo LA. That's Catherine, Karan, Johnny, and Steve with original Ranger Walter. Should be an interesting con, as I'm pretty sure that's Cat's first (if it isn't, correct me please ;p )

Very interesting to hear from her. It was a nice little interview, and the comment she made about a reunion on Dino Thunder falling through was cool, because it would have been absolutly awesome to see that. And she was right, I think Disney does owe it to the fans to do a reunion show of the original MMPR through Turbo cast. Very nice interview.

Kim - Yes, this will be Catherine's first con appearance. I'm really hoping she--along with everyone else at this con--does Morphicon II though. I missed it the first go around and have regretted it ever since lol.
And in regards to Catherine appearing on Dino Thunder, I'm certainly glad she didn't. The story editor for Wild Force had originally intended Forever Red to depict Tommy as married to Kat, and Skull as married to Kimberly; and even though that never happened on-screen, I'm certain we would have gotten a similar explanation had Catherine come back for DT. That makes writing Tommy/Kim stories pretty hard to write without completely ignoring show canon and continuity.

I know what you mean wk. I'd rather not see ANY reunion than see a Tommy/Kat reunion. I don't know if I could stomach it.

Very nice interview. yes.. a Dino thunder/mmpr reunion would of worked. the timing was there to do it.. i mean really 500 episodes (Legacy* Of Power) you had the Original Green Ranger part of the cast.. it was all there to make it work.. and considering i dont belive Tommy never married Kat in the first place, cuz Jason said That Tommy and Kim where kissing away at the juice bar, in Forever Red, implying that there was still something going one between the two of them.. *hint hint* (even if it was implying it to mmpr, still NO mention of kat) SO... it is ALL possible, that IF disney did decide to to a reunion show and did it CORRECTLY. Tommy and Kim Would Be Back Together. Elsa Said it best In 'Back In Black'... "Haven't you learned that in our world, anything's possible?" ok.. am done fan-girl ranting..

And in dino thunder, I loved when Tommy used Kim's catch phrase "catch ya on the flipside". That reference put butterflies in my stomach.

I loved it too, I also love all the references towards Tommy and Kim. Lets not forget Kira found an old photo of the MMPR season 2 gang with Kim in it. also in Legacy of Power Kat was shown but the name was not mentionedat all.

While I would LOVE to see a reunion myself, there's just one problem. I'm pretty sure that AJJ would NEVER do it. I can see that all the other actors would, but not her. In that case, I pose a question to you:
Would you be willing to accept another actress (one who looks a lot like AJJ, if one can be found) playing Kimberly, just to be able to have the "gang" back together again? Or are you of the mind that, if AJJ can't/won't do it, you would rather not see Kimberly?
I honestly don't know how I'd feel about that at the moment, so I can't answer it myself. I need to think about it a bit more. But I'm dying to see what your guys' feeling is on it.

I personally wouldn't want to see anyone else play Kimberly, but a reunion of the rest of the cast on screen wouldn't be bad. And to be honest, depending on AJJ's state of mind, you never know what she'd do in the future. I always thought she'd never mention having spent three years wearing spandex and saving the world, but she actually posted something about it on her bio at her website. I know it's far fetched, but I'm of the overly optimistic hope that maybe one day she might actually consider it.

Well, we can always hope. LOL In the words of our beloved Tommy "Anything's possible." LOL

I wouldn't want to see anyone else play Kimberly. If a reunion was to happen and she doesnt appear, than I can honestly say I am ok with that as long as they come up with a good reason why she is not there. Maybe a little bit of AJJ would want to do a reunion but we are not in her mind and don't know what she is thinking. Her and JDF were/are such good friends that he can probably get her to come to the reunion, because seriously it is not everyday you get to spend time with the people who gave you your first acting job.

AJJ brought so much life and spark and passion to Kimberly that it'd be a disgrace to see anyone else in Kimberly's role, really. I really think she fluctuates between loving her first job and being all >.> about it on a daily basis, lol. But yeah, my main thought is, if there's no AJJ, there's no Kim, and if there's no chemistry between AJJ and JDF, there's no TK.

I think it would be insulting to see someone else play Kim or any of the other characters. AJJ is Kim and JDF is Tommy, I can't see anyone else playing these two characters it would just be wrong

Yeah, no one else but AJJ should play Kim, unless they do a complete reboot of MMPR and start over with an entirely new, younger cast. To be honest, I don't think AJJ is really as against PR as people make it out to be; she's just moved on. A lot of people take a ten-second clip from "I Love the 90's" and turn it into "ZOMG!!! AJJ hates TEH PR!!!" which is ridiculous. All she ever said was "That's something I'll never live down," right after the show displayed a bunch of panelists talking about how hot she was.
I've spoken with quite a few people who have met AJJ in person, and I've never heard anything but nice things, even when Power Rangers is brought up. What people don't understand is that, to the actors who portray these characters, their respective shows are really just another job. I don't know about you guys, but I hated my first job and would never go back to it in a million years.
AJJ has really been one of the lucky few (WEJ and JYB, too) from the MMPR Rangers when it comes to the entertainment industry; she's worked fairly consistently and, while she'll never be an A-list star, consistent work in the TV/film industry is something most actors would kill for. The main actors were non-union, working 60-80 hour weeks, and only getting paid about $500 a week on a show that literally made hundreds of millions of dollars. That's a raw deal all around for the actors, and I can see why some of them would not want to return to a job that really treated them like crap, even if ownership and protocol has changed dramatically since then.

You're right. And Amy's said herself, that she never wanted super stardom, she's happy being a working actress and pursuing her interests as she pleases.

I have heard her say all of that. PR was her first job and like shae has said "she will never live it down." she is grateful that PR gave her, her first job and it also got her where she is today. I am glad AJJ is not an A-List star, I like her for who she is and she loves what she has accomplished and where she is right now in life
