Hi, I'm new! I didn't see this here, so I thought I would recommend it.

Anyway, I really enjoyed this Tommy/Kimberly story by KSuzie because of the following reasons:

1. Kimberly is a strong, powerful character. She is a team leader (a "Red" Pink Ranger!) and the central character in the story.

2. Tommy is human. He is flawed by the same strengths that makes him a legend. For example, he always wants to be in control or assign duties to others, like Kimberly, without taking the person's wants into consideration, which make him a strong leader, but messes with his relationships. On the other hand, Tommy's possessiveness of Kim is...attractive.

3. The concept is very interesting.

4. The fic's characters are well-rounded. For example, Kimberly while strong, shows character flaws in dealing with certain people (specifically Tommy) and her self-image. I loved that she was true to her Pink Ranger roots, and actively trying to show that pink (often seen as the weakest color/ranger) doesn't mean weak.

Also, the orignal Yellow Ranger, Trini, faces "real" moral decisions after her Swedish husband wants a divorce.

5. I adored the pairings especially Tommy/Kim and Billy/Trini.

NOTES: It should be noted that this fic includes an OC as a Ranger, but honestly, the OC isn't the main character in the story, and she kind of grew on me after a few chapters. She's not a Mary Sue (thankfully!) and her character is shown to be less perfect as the story progresses. Really, I think she'll grow on you.

Also, this is a long story!


In conclusion, if you are a big Kimberly fan, adore the orignals, and like to read about what could have happened if Kim and Jason couldn't completely shake off the effects of the Muirantian influences from the pit, then I think you'll enjoy this fic.

I enjoyed this story too.The Alternate takes place during part of The Coin Series. It features one of Kimberly's alternates freed from Kimora's (Kemora's?) spell. This fic's Kimberly is still in high school and she has to try to fit in in the dimension whose Kimberly just died. This fic is shorter than TCS and lighter. Still, the story is very enjoyable.

I'm adding my two cents worth for this story, because I honestly spent a good six hours a few months ago reading this and was completely, completely blown away by it. KSuzie has a real gift for threading canon into her own personal story that she's telling, and she has a way for telling this story in a way that will take your breath away. I can go on and on about this and how amazing the story is, but you really have to devote some time to really digest the story after reading it because it's worth it. It ties fifteen years of canon and really, really celebrates the show in a way that I still gush about it months after I first read it, ahha.

I would also recommend reading KJ's Power Rangers: Legacy, which is a tie-in with The Coins series (KJ's Kim appears as an alternate in The Coins as do the Turbo team). In short, two awesome writers writing in one somewhat linked universe? You gotta read it to appreciate it.

I must agree with both of you. KSuzies' The Coin Series just drew me in and I couldn't stop reading it. I lost sleep from reading it. Towards the end, I did get a little confused because the story gets so deep and alternate realities crossover so much, but it's still worth reading. And I love how realistic she makes Tommy and Kimberly's relationship out to be. She delves in to how being rangers negatively affects their personal lives with each other. It doesn't necessarily draws them together. Sometimes it can pull them apart.

KJ's Legacy is also a great read. It's actually a sequel to a series she had called Ranger Scrolls. It's her au version of Turbo. I love that her mix of their personal lives, as well as their ranger lives is well balanced.

I couldn't agree more that both these writers are awesome and are under-appreciated.

I'm just gonna throw it out there and say that The Coins is by far one of the best PR fan fiction stories written...quite possibly ever. Not a big fan of Legacy, and I never really got into The Alternate that much, but The Coins is easily Top 3 for me, right up there with Cheryl Roberts' "All I Want For Christmas," and Rain Fletcher's "Earthsiege," all of which are must-reads for any true PR-T/K fan. "Earthsiege," for those of you who haven't read it, is absolutely epic, written back when the authors who wrote PR FF genuinely cared about what they were doing, before 900 word chapters with crap grammar and dumb recycled storylines became commonplace.

Going slightly off topic, PR fan fiction saddens me quite a bit to read. I understand shipping--Hell, I do my fair share of it, especially where Tommy and Kim are concerned--but dammit, have some pride in what you're doing!!!! If you're going to put 2 characters together, ESPECIALLY when they've shown no interest in each other on-screen, at least explain why they're getting together. I swear to God, I'm getting sick and tired of seeing Casey/RJ or Shane/Dustin one-shots that go like this.

"Once upon a time Shane and Dustin fought bad guys. They killed one, kissed, fell in love with each other, and it was awesome. The end."

WTF is that crap?? Ahh, it pisses me off so damn much to see all these people writing stories on FF.net that are so freaking terrible their authors should be taken out to pasture. On a more pleasant note, though, The Coins is an incredible story, one that is definitely not a cookie-cutter piece of crap like what I just mentioned lol. KSuzie has an innate ability to take a convoluted, cluttered idea that at most points leaves you wondering what the hell is going on, and turn it into such an amazingly detailed piece of art that you only want more by the end of it. As far as active PR authors go, I would definitely put KSuzie in my Top 5, right up there with Kim, Shawn, Cheryl, and this random ass guy who calls himself White Knight. He's a real weirdo, but I think his stuff is kind of okay.

Okay, Rapunzl suggested this to me months ago (but school and life have gotten in the way), and we've all been thinking of putting it on Command Center: Earth, so I think when Spring Break comes after next week, I'll go read this. You all speak so highly of it, it's gotta be good.

It's really awesome! I find that when I get bored (with school work.. lol) I open up the fic and pick a chapter to read through, and then I find new things I didn't catch on previous readings and I'm just left like, wow, this is fabulous.

Kim- It's an excellent story. Hands down one of the best PR fics ever written (and I've read A LOT of PR fics lol).
