My dorm has internet For the past month I've been driving an hour and a half to class 5 days a week so it's around 3 hours everyday. Well I wasn't able to get to the South Campus because they are all full, but the North Campus didn't have -wireless- internet. So I was all freaking out because I need it not only for school but for stories, emails, and graphics. Well all I needed was an ethernet chord TTYS

well, since chris has made this the random thread, i guess i'll ask a somewhat random question. I'm sure it's been asked and answered at some point on this board, but I really don't want to sift through all the various threads to find it. Basically, all I want to know is if there's an easier way to post a new chapter than copying and pasting the text into a message box, as any variations to the text made in MS Word (i.e., bolds and italics) disappear upon being pasted, meaning I have to click back and forth between Word and here to remember what's been bolded or italicized, then find it and re-bold/italicize it, a rather time consuming process all the way around. So now that my long winded question is out of the way, is there an easier way to do all this?

I had that problem too... you just have to put the codes in with your writing like for bold it's - [ b ] [ / b ] (just delete the space and put in your word) then for italics it's [ i ] [ / i ]
I think...

Yeah, that's basically what I was trying to avoid lol. Having to hunt and peck through pages and pages of text each time you want to post a new chapter is a major pain in the butt.
P.S. How do I be something other than a Jungle Fury Ranger? I freaking hate Jungle Fury!

LOL! I hate all the new incarnations because Disney now owns them... the last one I could -stand- was SPD and that's because of S/S. But you have to post more to get off of that.

Haha, I know it's probably considered blasphemy to say this on this board, but I was never a big fan of S/S, nor SPD in general. Don't get me wrong, it definitely did a lot of things right, but mid-season SPD and on is, in my opinion, the start of PR's ultimate downfall to where we are now, each season getting progressively crappier than the one before. SPD had so much potential, having the last producer to genuinely care about the series. (little known fact: Greg Aronowitz, producer alongside Brush Kalish [aka the Devil incarnate] built many of the monsters, as well as Isnia, on his own time and with his own money). Ever since Greg left, however, PR has been dying a slow and painful death. Kalish couldn't have cared less about the show, and Koichi Sakamoto needs to be put on a freaking leash. 18 minutes of blowing stuff up and two minutes of story does NOT make for a good show, despite what Koichi would have us believe. Luckily, the new trailer for RPM gives me some hope that the show could actually turn itself around again. Kalish is finally gone, the trailer looks great, and the producer for RPM was fired midseason for making the show "too dark" for Disney's standards. If nothing else, the first half of the season should at least be watchable, something I just can't say for MF, OO, and JF.

I'm pretty sure you can skip the hunting and pecking through your story.
If you are using MS Word, you can search for a "style" (i.e. have the search dialog box jump directly to the next occurrence of italics, for example). That way, you can easily pick out what was italicized and copy over the formatting to the board's version.
Depending on your version of Word (I'm currently working with 2003, but I can get you instructions for 2007 if you need it), you can just go to the search dialog box (either Ctrl+F or Edit->Find) and click the "More" button to see all the advanced options. There should be a drop down menu labeled "Format." Click "Font" and chose the type of font style that you'd like to search for (italics, underline, bold, etc.). Click OK and leave the search text box empty - that way, it'll search for any text that is formatted in the same style you chose.

WK88 - as far as the producers, I've met Kalish, he's not that bad of a guy. And to be perfectly honest, Disney has everyone at the show on a short leash (meaning they want explosions galore not storylines, they're trying to draw in the kids, not the adults), so you can't blame it all on the producers, they've got bosses too. And it's interesting to note, and I say this because I have met Bruce and talked ot him, that he has had death threats made against his family (and what kind of maturity do people think that shows from the fans, let alone how do people think that makes him feel toward the show). Just because he produced the show, doesn't mean he was the one writing it all the time or making all the approvals on the rewrites from the Sentai footage. That was ultimately left to Disney. I'm not saying he or any of the other producers are blameless, but it's not all their faults. The show has been going downhill since Disney took over, and SPD was the last really good, potential filled season we had that went no where. The cast was extraordinary, but they weren't given much wiggle room either. If Disney would let go of the leash a little and give them some creative wiggle room, we'd get a hell of a lot better show. I especially think Greg should be brought back, because he's got true talent and had a wonderful vision for the show.

Kim, I would have to disagree that PR declined when Disney took over. Ninja Storm and Dino Thunder were both very successful, with DT garnering some of the highest ratings for PR in years. The decline in PR can easily be traced to one person, and that is Bruce Kalish. First half SPD was stellar because of Greg's passion for the series, but then Kalish started pushing his weight around a bit more and it showed. I'm not saying he's a bad guy, but the other EP's and crew before him worked under the same company with the same rules and they did not destroy the most popular kids show in history. The buzz around RPM pretty much proves this, as very few have been this excited for a new season since Bruce took over. In a three minute trailer Eddie Guzelian seems to have injected a much needed spark into the series, and I'm hopeful that PR alum Chip Lynn will continue this into the second half of RPM. Bruce may be a great producer, but I firmly believe that he had no business working on PR whatsoever.
