Okay, I've been thinking about the FotM, and the way I've done it in the past. I'm thinking that we may need to change something here.
In the past, only fics that were posted here at the board, at Something Perfect, and Chemistry were acceptable as nominee's. Well, at this point, that's really limiting the fics that we have in the running. I've not got that many fics at SP, and it's the same author's that are being nominated, and winning time and time again. Hardly fair, when I know that there are other TK fics out there that I've not even come across yet (or haven't gotten permission yet to post), that are deserving of some recognition. (Same goes with SS.)
I've not updated the actual sites in MONTHS, so I know there have to be lots of new fics out there that I've not seen, or gotten permission to post yet (at least I hope there are). Since I don't really read fics anymore in the fandom (*ducks head*) I need your guys' help in locating new fics to choose from, and possibly even to put up at the sites. I'm going to try really hard to get back into updating and stuff, maybe do an update every two months or something (but that's besides' the point, sorry! lol).
Having you guys rec the fics for FotM again would be a great way to do this. Only problem is, the last time I had you guys nominate the fics, the same authors/stories kept being nominated, and it seems like it was only the most popular ones. I don't think that's fair at all to those authors who maybe only wrote one or two fics, and so they're not as well known, but the fic is still kickass and deserves some recognition. I'm not sure how to keep that from happening yet, but I really don't want that to be the case again; I want it to be diversified.
Now... after all of this rambling (sorry, but you know me well enough by now to know I tend to ramble on :/ ) my question that I need you guys to answer is this:
Do we keep the FotM "in house", if you will, and it stay just fics here, at SP and Chemistry? OR.... Do we open it yp for ANY and EVERY TK and SS fic out there, whether it's here, ff.net, etc, etc?
So... please vote in the poll above, and let me know what you think. Your opinions are greatly appreciated guys, I want you guys to be a part of making the decisions around here too, and not just have me saying "this is how we're going to do it now". So, even if you're a lurker, and have never posted at all, I would like for you to vote. No one will ever see what you voted, or that you even voted period, but this is a way for even lurkers to have some say in the board as well. Everyone's thought count!!
If you have any suggestions for me, feel free to post them as well, or PM me with them if you don't want anyone seeing what you have to say. I just really want some feedback on this! Please?! *gives you puppy dog eyes*
