Disclaimer: Not Mine, though I’d give anything if they were.
Rating: MA
Summary: Sky gets some news that upsets him, and he confronts Syd. Things get out of control.
AN: This story is a site exclusive that I won’t be posting at ff.net or any other site. If you guys want to give me feedback for it (which I hope you will), you’ll have to shoot me an email or leave it here. I would love to hear your thoughts on this fic, it’s something different than I’ve ever written for SS before (it’s not the normal ‘happy-go-lucky’ fic you’re used to seeing from me so far. Do NOT read if you can’t handle them being angry and violent with one another. If you do read and are offended, I did warn you so don’t write to me complaining about it. This is a serious.warning.), and was inspired by another fic I read in another of my fandom’s.

Sky couldn’t ever remember being so angry before, as he stormed down the hallway towards the girls’ quarters. He couldn’t believe he’d found out this way; that she had been too chicken to tell him herself. When he arrived at the door, he didn’t bother to knock; he simply gave his override code and walked in. He knew that Syd would be alone in the room, as he’d passed Z in the hallway heading towards the cafeteria.
Syd looked up, startled, from what she’d been doing at her vanity, and gulped at the look in Sky’s eyes. She’d never seen him so angry, or hurt, in all the years she’d known him. She bit her lip, as she waited for him to say what was on his mind. She knew this wouldn’t be pretty, she could tell by the way his chest heaved and his nostrils kept flaring that he was trying to regain come emotional control, but could also tell it wasn’t working.
“Why?” he bit out. He took a deep breath before going on, “How could you not tell me? Why did I have to find out like this?” He threw the morning paper at her feet, where the front page revealed her smiling face beside the headline, ‘POP DIVA AND SPD GOLDEN GIRL SET TO WED’.
Her eyes had followed the paper to the floor, and she sighed as she read it. She closed her eyes and gathered herself, readying for whatever he threw at her, before standing to face him. “I’m sorry. I asked him not to announced it until I could talk to you, but he wouldn’t listen. I’m SO sorry Schuyler.” She felt the tears well in her eyes as she thought of how hurt he must have felt as he read the article.
He wasn’t appeased by the sincerity in her words, and he lashed out, “YOU’RE SORRY?! IS THAT SUPPOSED TO MAKE IT BETTER?! HOW COULD YOU SYDNEY?!”
“You have NO idea how hard this was for me. And yelling at me isn’t going to solve the problem either,” she crossed her arms over her chest, a defiant look on her face. How dare he be angry with her.
“Oh, and tell me just how hard it is for you Sydney, because I’d love to know. Just how hard is it to be set to marry a rich CEO, who will let you buy anything your spoiled little heart desires?” Sky didn’t have time to register the hurt in her eyes as the side of his face exploded in pain. He lifted his hand to rub his cheek, and turned to look back at Sydney with empty eyes.
Syd couldn’t remember him ever looking at her like that before; she’s seen him amused, aroused, exasperated, angry, and in love, but never an empty look like the one he now wore. She spoke with venom in her voice, his callously spoken words having hardened her heart against him. “Don’t you dare talk to me like that. You have no right Schuyler Tate! You’re the one who turned me away, remember?! I was ready to give up everything for you, and you threw it back in my FACE!” By the time she was finished, she was right up in his face, with her finger stuck in his chest.
They stood there a moment, breathing hard, glaring with more hate than either could ever remember seeing in the other’s eyes, even back in the days they battled Gruumm and his monsters, neither one wanting to back down. Suddenly Sky grabbed Sydney by the shoulders and hauled her to him, silencing her surprised yelp with his mouth. One hand snaked up into her blonde curls to hold her head exactly where he wanted it, while the other anchored her lower back against him. She resisted at first, not wanting him to know that she was enjoying it as much as she was, but within moments of feeling the first touch of his lips, she was giving in, and giving back just as much as he was dealing.
The kiss was far from gentle. They were pouring months worth of hurt and anger into it; it was a harsh melding of lips, and nipping of teeth. Sky backed her up against the wall, and lifted her up off the floor so he could have better access to her lips without having to hunch over. As she wrapped her legs around his hips, he lent down and started to nip at her neck, causing her to shiver in delight. She moved her head, giving him greater access to her most sensitive spot, and moaned when he latched on, expertly sucking the skin into his mouth.
When he heard her moan, Sky, much to his dismay, felt his member harden in response to the sound. Her enthusiastic, and very vocal, nature had always been a big turn on for him, and much to his chagrin he found it still was; even through his hurt and anger, he wanted her. He felt the overwhelming need to be inside her, claiming her as his, even though by his own choice she no longer was. Barking out his security code to lock the door against any intruders, he turned and strode the two feet to her bed, where they all but fell onto it.
The moment they were down, greedy hands were reaching for zippers and buckles, frenzied in their need. The minute they had enough clothes off, Sky positioned himself over Syd, and with one swift thrust, he was impaling her, making her his once again.
“SKY!” Syd couldn’t stop the exclamation from escaping her lips, as he buried himself as deeply within her as he could.
Their coupling was far from gentle, as with each thrust they tried to conquer each other. Sky was pouring out his hurt and anger over Syd’s engagement to another man, and Syd was pouring out her hurt and anger over Sky having left her all those months ago. Sky dipped down and claimed her lips once more, and the two continued their rhythm without pause. Months of having an intimate relationship had created a sense of ease, the two being able to match and counter each other’s movements precisely. It was easy to fall into their old rhythm even after months of being apart. And even though they both knew this was wrong, nothing had felt so right to them in the months they’d been apart.
Sky tore his lips from Syd’s and leaned back far enough to look her in the eye. He thrust into her, “You’re mine Syd.” *thrust* “Do you hear me?” *thrust* “Mine.” He loved the glazed look in her eyes, the look that only he had ever brought her. “Say it Syd.” At her defiant look, he stopped his movements.
“You left me Sky, I’m not yours anymore,” she panted. “You gave up any claim to me, the day you said it’s over.”
“Wrong.” He slowly started to move within her, knowing just how much to move so that she would feel the pleasure, but wouldn’t reach the breaking point. “You’ll always be mine Sydney.” *pant* “Just like I’ll always be yours.” They continued to hold eye contact while Sky set up another rhythm, one that had both of them close to the edge. Finally Syd closed her eyes, the pleasure in his movements too much for her. Sky leaned down to whisper in her ear, “Say it Syd. Say you’re mine.” Once again, he stilled, waiting for her to give the answer he longed for.
Sydney opened her eyes, and was lost in the sky blue eyes of her lover. She whispered the words that mended his broken heart, “I’m yours Sky.” *pant* “Only yours.” *pant* “Always.” A silent tear rolled down her cheek, which Sky quickly kissed away. Syd hugged him to her chest, and wound her legs tighter around his back.
At her admission, Sky started moving again, intent on taking them both over the edge as quickly as he could. He knew exactly what it would take for Syd to lose her control, and knew that he would follow right behind her. He angled his hips a fraction of an inch, knowing that he would hit the spot that would send her through the roof. Just a few strokes was all it would take.
He knew the moment it happened, as Syd’s grip on his shoulders tightened, and he felt her breathing hitch just a second before she clamped down on his shaft. Sky could feel the fluttering of her silken walls, as her orgasm washed over her. With one final thrust, he followed, spilling his seed deep inside.
Sky lay there a moment gathering his wits, trying to work out what he was going to say to her. While part of him felt extremely guilty for his actions, another part of him was rejoicing over having been with Syd again in that way. He loved her completely, and had missed her more than words could say.
He slowly rolled to the side, letting her be free to move should she want to. He knew that she would be angry at him for his actions, but hoped she would at least give him a chance to apologize before she let him have it. When she didn’t immediately move, he spoke, “I’m sorry.”
She lifted her eyes to his, “You are?”
Was it his imagination, or was that hurt in her eyes? “I’m not sorry we made love, I’m sorry for the way in which we did it.” Sky swallowed hard. “I’m sorry that I was so angry, and that I took it out on you. I never want to hurt you Syd.”
She let out a bitter laugh and said, “Too late for that Schuyler. You’ve done nothing but hurt me for the last five months. Ever since you ended it, I’ve done nothing but hurt,” she couldn’t keep the bitterness from her voice.
Sky could see the honestly of that statement in her eyes. He raised a hand and gently brushed her cheek, “And you’ll never know just how sorry I am for that,” he whispered.
“Too little too late,” she replied, her eyes full of pain. “I don’t know what you think is going to happen, but I’ve already agreed to be his wife, and I can’t go back on that.”
Sky’s heart broke again at her declaration. “Syd, you can’t marry him. You love me, not him.”
“Correction, I may be in love with you, but I do love him; and he’s a good man. He’ll treat me right, and he won’t hurt me the way you have. Do you wanna know why? Because I’ll never give him the power to. I’ll never love him the way I love you, and that will mean he’ll never touch me the way you did -heart, body and soul. I’ll never have to worry about having a broken heart again.” Syd sat up and threw her legs over the edge of the bed.
As she moved to stand, Sky grabbed her arm, “Sydney, please. Please don’t do this.”
Syd silently grabbed her pants, and jacket and headed for her bathroom. She stopped just outside the door, and without ever looking back at Sky said, “Too late Sky.” She stepped through the door and immediately upon it closing behind her, fell back against it, her hand coming up to cover her mouth and muffle the sobs that she couldn’t hold back any longer.
When the door closed behind her, Sky sat there in stunned silence for a while, before slowly climbing from the bed, and gathering his own clothes. He dressed himself, without even being aware of it, and walked to the door. He glanced back at the door Syd had escaped through, and as tears fell from his eyes he whispered, “I love you.”

AN: There’s not always a happy ending. So asking for a sequel won’t really help. Sorry.
