So, Youmacon has been very good to me over the years. In 2005 I got to meet Johnny, Chris, Alycia and Monica. In 2007 I got to hang with Johnny's band - Eyeshine. In 2008, I got to laugh with Paulie Schrier and Walter Jones. GOTTA LOVE IT!
In July I found out Paulie was coming to Detroit for our annual convention, Youmacon. A couple weeks ago, I found out native Detroiter, Walter Jones, was also coming. Now, I know of Paulie and he knows of me through a mutual friend *looks over at PrincessKimmerly*. So I couldn't resist going to see either of them when they were in town.
Little good girl me skipped classes *snickers* and went and hung out at the Hyatt for about 3 hours to go to the PR Q & A panel with them and get autographs.
The highlight of this was when I asked the guys if they were amazed by the impact Power Rangers has had on 2 generations of fans and after 16 years is still relatively strong. So while Walter's answering my question, Paulie is sitting there pointing at me, sticking out his tongue, and generally making faces at me. So right there, in the middle of the pannel, Walter stops talking and looks at Paulie and is all "You two know each other?"
At this point, my eyes are pretty big and Paulie's cracking up when he replies "My friend Kim's friend ..." and yes, he used my real name, but I'd rather not give that out at the moment. Now, I'm pretty impressed, cause I hadn't had a chance to say hi to him when he first walked in, and for him to pick me right out of the crowd like that was just...MORPHINOMINAL.
After that, I got to spend about 15 minutes upstairs on the second level with them joking around about mutual friends *grins* and got some cute pics to boot.
