Don't slap me and call me weird for asking this. But I know a lot of fandoms do this, and I have with other fandoms, but I haven't come across any that do it with PR; let alone T/K. Has anyone actually ever roleplayed? I just ask cuz that was actually how I started I guess writing fanfics. Or that lead me to do that. And I don't mean simple rp but complex where it's technically like writing a fanfic. Just wondering. *puts earplugs in to hide from evil comments*

I've heard of roleplaying, seen a bit of it, but the majority of the PR rp games I've seen are pretty crappy....it's hard to get everyone's schedules together, and a lot of the "writers" are not writers at all, so the storylines kinda suck. I'm not against it or anything, but that's just my general opinion from what I've seen in our fandom.

Nope, never done it. Don't plan on it. *shrugs* It's not something that's ever appealed to me. I know that TONS of people do it, and I've seen other PR roleplay groups advertise, but never had any inclination to check it out.

Lol I was just wondering. I don't do it anymore, but I just never noticed it in this fandom.

Okay, I'll confess, Chris.
I was part of a PBeM (play-by-e-mail) RP game for several years in college. (Not PR related)
And yes, that's how I initially started flexing my writing muscles (which subsequently atrophied to the point of nonexistence). I really enjoyed it at the time, though, mostly because I got to write fun fictiony stuff, and because of the camaraderie that formed amongst the group. In fact, I initially met two of my close friends through that game.

I roleplay but only once in the PR fandom because well...all the good roleplayers tend to not be there. I don't want to sound conceited but I consider myself a fairly adequate roleplayer and I go where the other good roleplayers are.
I roleplay where I know there will be good, complex storylines, as well as good roleplayers to follow through with those storylines. So, I usually go for groups that you have to audition for. I'm into the Harry Potter roleplay games, there are some amazing people there.
So, if ever you were looking for somewhere to rp, I'd highly suggest there.

as an avid gamer who games every other weekend, I'm almost offended by how people seem to think we're strange or something.
Gamed PR? No. Gamed lots of other stuff though. If I could find the table top rules for a PR game, I'd be all over it like... like a fat kid on a smartie!
And now I'm dating myself *snicker*
Seriously, I get tones of ideas from gaming even if it's in another fandom. Gaming is another way to be "free" with my creativity and - let's face it - when you've got over three dozen stories from various fandoms on the go, you need all the creative assistance you can get!

LOL, Jade. I didn't realize we were meshing tabletop into this - I thought Chris was just referring to internet. I tabletop almost every Friday with my friends from college; it's a great way to keep in touch, and they are closer to me than family sometimes. Okay, so mostly we just goof off and make billions of silly jokes, but we eventually get about 30-45 min of actual roleplay in. I love the fantasy of it, the acting, the pretending to be something you're not (also why Halloween is my favorite holiday). I actually barely know any of the technical rules - I'm well known for being the person at the table who consistently asks "How do I roll that?" - but it's the camaraderie I enjoy the most. Pretty much the same reasons I love fanfic, to be honest. ;D

Personally, I think if you know what you're doing, I'm all for it (as I use to play D&D way back when) but a lot of the PR RP's i've come across are SH*T, which is why you don't see many of them around anymore, except at various message boards. Dude, I wish I could game like some of you, but I have no talent for it. I must stick with writing and graphics...and that video I'm supposed to be making for Terra *wanders off*
