I know this may seem oddly out of place here, but I just saw on the yahoo news site that George Carlin passed away yesterday and I'm really saddened about that. I know some of you may have found him offensive, but I loved him. I don't know how many times I watched his HBO specials, even when I'd seen them once I'd watch them over and over again, and laugh my ass off every time.
RIP George, we'll miss you. Thanks for the laughs.
Sorry, just had the urge to post something. Did anyone else here love his comedy?

I wasn't allowed to listen to a lot of it until I got older, but the man was a frigging social genius if you ask me. Sucks that we have to lose someone cool, and yes, he could be offensive, but that was one of his best traits - he didn't care who he offended when he was telling it how he saw it.

He was brutally honest. And it's hard to be offended because he makes such a compelling argument in what he says - even if I disagree with some of it RIP you crazy man. George Carlin on Football vs. Baseball

I was so sorry to hear that George passed away. He was one of my favorite comedians. I loved that he didn't say stuff just to say it, he meant it even if it was offensive to some. I saw most of his comedy specials and read one of his books. He truly is a legend and he will be missed.

OMG when he did the bit about dying, and said "I won't have to die, I'll pass away", I had the overwhelming urge to go and edit my above post so that it didn't say that. LMAO And the facial expression about killed me; that was one of the things I liked best about him, was the expressions he used as well as the words. Sometimes they were funnier than what he said. lol
And I'm not sure that putting RIP is something he'd want either, as I'm sure wherever he's at, he's got them all riled up with his comedy, laughing their asses off.
I keep hoping that he's with Brenda, his first wife, now, as I know he had a rough time after she passed 11 years ago. I can't even imagine what he went through.
And, did you guys know that he worked on the Thomas the Tank Engine cartoon too? My son is a HUGE Thomas fan, and it always gave me a chuckle when George was the narrator. LOL
