In the spirit of the TK thread I just posted, I was wondering: what makes SS work for you? WHY are they your fave couple? What makes them so good for each other?
I want GOOD reasons here people LOL, not the cheesy lame ones that I've seen some people give for certain couples (I've read some reasons in the past for another couple (that just clashed terribly IMO) that just made me cringe! LOL). We know that they're the best SPD couple  so lets hear why they're the best!
I'll give my reasons later on, after I've thought them through and gathered my thoughts some. I'm curious as to what you guys think, so let's have them!

I like this idea for a thread! Okay, so my biggest reason as to why Syd and Sky work requires one word... Walls Syd made Sky smile and I mean *really* smile. It was just a cute and wonderful moment. |

You opened a damn can of worms here, you know that right.
First of all, while Beginnings showed Syd and Sky at each other's throats, it also showed the looks, and the fact that Syd mentions "He never gets easier to live with".
They're are damn near always standing together during scenes in the command center and need I say more about the looks they constantly give each other. If I have to, I can screen cap them as photographic evidence.
As Rachel said, WALLS. Evidence number one. Syd's the only one who makes Sky SMILE. Dogged is another good one - Sky's actually worried about Syd when they find her morpher in the water and RIC standing in her defense.
Sam Pt. 2, final scene - THE HUG. Mind you, Sky doesn't touch ANY of the others, but at the end of Sam Pt. 2, when Syd's fretting about being old, while the others sorta laugh it off and walk away, Sky leans over and one arm hugs her. AND SMILES AT HER TOO!
Idol - Right before Sky goes after Dru, if you pay close attention, him and Syd share a LOOK while Jack, Bridge and Z are elsewhere. That look just sizzles and you can tell there's so much more behind it.
Stakeout - Sky very bluntly makes several comments about not knowing it was Sydney's birthday, and if you look at his face in that moment, it's almost like "Why didn't you tell me?" kinda thing.
Boom - While Z runs to hug Jack, who's the first person at Sky's side? Syd, with a giant ass hug, that had Boom not been in the way, would have made one killer ass avie or banner because she threw herself at him.
Recognition - With Wootox in Sky's body, talk about sizzling chemistry between him and Syd, and I don't think it was all between Wootox and Syd.
Zapped - the Magic show. When Syd's so out of it, notice the look on Sky's face in the audience.
*evil grin* REFLECTIONS. Do I have to say more? Okay, so, let's see, the playfulness in the park scene - he keeps the frisbee away from Z and keeps tossing it to Syd. He and Syd go out to the park to look for Mirloc - to which Sky pulls Syd out of harms way when the dirty bastard shows up. Syd's also the first person once the team gets freed who stands up for Sky and the memory of his father. You can tell how proud of him she is, and the look on his face when she does is priceless.
Katastrophe - they're sitting together on the couch when they're trying to come up with a way to get Kat to think she's not needed at SPD Earth, and the looks those two are shooting at each other just sizzle.
Insomnia - when they're in the common room in their PJ's and Syd's talking, the looks Sky's shooting her are just priceless.
Endings Pt. 2 - When Cruger asks Sky if he'd follow Syd as Red, and he says yes, the look she gives him is, again, priceless.
So to wrap it all up, basically, why they work for me is the on screen CHEMISTRY that just sizzles between them. When I look at Sky and Z, it's annoyed Brother/Sister reactions, not the sexual tension oozing between Syd and Sky. Not to mention, he only ever reacts emotionally other than annoyance to Sydney. Plus, I can see so much happening between them since she seems to be the only one he's let past that wall around his heart.

These two work for me because as Kim mention, it seems to ME that SYD is the only one who truly ever gets to SKY. And that is wether its in annoyance, happiness, or pleasure. AND those lusty and loving looks they ALWAYS give one another. It seems as if they put up this front so others dont see their attraction for one another but we get glimpses of it throughout the season. Their chemistry together on screen just smokes.
And again with have you seen the two of them!! HOT.

Well, I totally agree with Kim and Terra.
Syd really can break through Sky's walls and make him laugh and loosen up!

OMG... what a question... well Kim really broke it down... and I'm feeling lazy so just read over her reasons ^^ *grins* what really did it for me, was the episode 'Walls'. The chemistry is UNDENIABLE! So, because of that, I thought Cathy's site was very, VERY appropriately named! =D

you can see that Sky truely cares about Syd. Syd is the only one who can break through his walls and you can see that they would do anything for each other

YAY Chris!! That's excellent news!! WHOO and HOO!
I'm slowly writing up all the little Sky/Syd moments in each episode and then will be posting them here when I do. There's just so many little moments, little smiles, smirks.... I don't care that they weren't exactly canon, they might as well have been.
And HEY! Who say's YOU get to take the credit Kim? *hands on hip* He said he had the thought from coming to the board.  LOL

Hi, just thought I'd put in my two cents. The main reason I like Sky and Syd's relationship is that Sky always seems so tense around just about everyone but he always seems more at ease when he's next to her. She's kind of like his comfort zone. |

Nicely said. I gotta agree with that. He does seem to smile a little more when they're together.
He's never really gotten hateful with her, the way he does the others -including Bridge- and that says a lot to me.
On a side note: I LOVE YOUR BANNER!

Heh...comfort zone....I like that phrase! And yeah, gotta agree! Hehe, Chrissy uncaged the SS beast within me, with me reading Pink Surprise, and boom, we got SS all over the place. It's one of the few things in my life I will never regret, now if I could just tell Aly and Chris that without coming off as scary obsessive we'd be safe....Dude, I can't wait for Cat to start posting all the moments, cause I could probably go back and do it, but I'd be drooling over Sky's hot body, and Cat can watch the episodes and not drool as bad as me

Well, we just put SS mostly, but sydsky's used too..... *shrugs* I don't really like the shipper "names" they're usually silly sounding. Plus, I'm lazy and SS is much quicker. LOL
