So... whatcha think of the newest series so far? I'm loving it! This is actually the first series I've watched as it was airing, since Kimberly left in S3. I came to love DinoThunder and SPD after the fact, so I'm thrilled to be able to see this as it goes.
Anyone got any favorite couples yet? (yes, I know some of you do already LOL) Who's your fave character?
I'll put in my two cents worth later, as it's really late, but I wanted to get this posted while I was thinking of it.
Please be careful about talking about the series, let's not spoil anyone who's not watched yet, or has missed the last episodes. I think we can safely talk about certain aspects of it, without giving away the MAJOR stuff, at least until we know we're all on the same page.
Let's see, the last episode to air was 'Blind Leading the Blind', is there anyone who would talk in this thread that hasn't seen it yet?
K, I'm out for now, but will post later on today. Remember NO spoilers -YET.

Okay, well I've only seen the first two episodes... And I think it's better than I initially anticipated... But... Oh you should have seen that 'but' coming for miles... The story line is pretty much a whole bunch of the previous series all mashed together into one show... And the acting is a bit forced, especially Jarrod... But I guess that adds to the drama that is Dai Shi I love RJ though... Haha, even if he's a bit of a big dork, I heart him... The fact that David is a cutie helps... a little... *innocent smirk* Lily and Casey! Enough said. ;D I will give this series a chance though, I hear the episodes get good so I'll have to catch them on YouTube, as I sadly have no cable

Well, I think the acting is way better than some of the series of late, at least in the beginning. A lot of the actors seem stiff to me at the start (that's the biggest thing that turned me off of MF and OO. I ended up liking MF, but sadly never could get into OO.), but then seem to improve as the season goes along.
RJ!!! LOVE HIM! LOL He's great, and there has yet to be an episode where I didn't turn to my kids and go: "I love RJ." LOL
Casey and Lily are love.
And you should definitely give it a chance, I think the episodes have been great so far. Even this last one that focuses on my least fave character was really good. LOL
ETA: This was started by me reading a fic, that started out pretty good, but lost me with the last chapter. I will read the final chapter of it when it's posted but only to see what's going to come of the situation.
In the fic, the students at the academy take animal spirit mates when they hit puberty, and Lily's Cheetah had chosen Jarrod's Lion as her mate. (not going into great detail) He convinces RJ to break their bond, so that Dia Shi won't be able to use that against Lily. Then RJ becomes her mate. I'm sorry... there's something about that pairing (both of them actually) that has a major ick factor for me. I've already seen several fics that have the RJ/Lily, and it's kinda disturbing to me. Course, this is an author that proclaims herself the Queen of Kirommy so... I love the idea of the fic, them bonding through their animal spirits too, but just can't wrap my head around the pairings of the fic. AND the author made it very apparent she hates CL, which didn't make me very happy either. LOL She's made Casey out to be an idiot and sort of a jerk for the most part. Not.Cool.
Anyone else got a thought on that pairing (RL or JL I guess)? Am I the only one who just can't see the chemistry there (as far as romantic chemistry that is)?

I've finally caught up to all episodes.....this series has definitely intrigued me. The acting was a little stiff the first few episodes, but honestly, all the series were like that, even classics like MMPR. I love that Lily's kick ass and doing the female Ranger legacy a wonderful service. Casey is sweet, reminds me of a mix of several other former Red Rangers who initially doubted they had what it takes to be the leader, but he's growing into his Paws, so to speak. Initially, I liked Theo, sorta reminded me of a mix of Sky and Eric, and now I actually truly dislike him....he rubs me the wrong way. RJ - SCHWEET! RJ rocks as a mentor! Definitely better than Andrew Hartford last season....I still think OO's mentor should have officially been Spencer. Jarrod - gotta feel bad for him after the last few episodes. His Dai Shi counterpart - *shakes her head* I'm loving Camille too! It's funny to see Holly Shannahan in such an opposite role than she had in MF. She does evil witch pretty good. Relationship wise, Casily. Nuff said. I think Fran and RJ could have something going, and dude, Dai Shi and Camille if he ever gets his head out of his ass. As far as the other stuff, I'm awaiting the new members of the team, it's going to be interesting to see how the dynamics change. They're all steadily growing, so it's going to be fun to see how they all end up at the end.

Well so far I'm loving this new series. The storyline is really very interesting as are all the characters. Quite hoenstly it had me from the moment I found out Jason Smith was in it. He really is a great actor from the other things I've seen him in and I hope the show is able to portray that in some coming episodes.
Anyways, back to the series. Casey is such a sweetheart and definately reminds me of several Reds who doubted and then totally came into their own throughout the series. Lily is doing the female ranger legacy proud by kickcing butt and not backing down from a challenge. Theo is a mix of several rangers and I think he's going to grow over time. Overall, the core group of Rangers works really well together and I look forward to seeing it develop throughout the season. Now..RJ!!! How can you not love him? He's definately a kick butt mentor who's in the know and really very funny at the same time. He's more I guess we can call it in tune with the Rangers and what they need. 20 million times better than that Hartford person who was only a cover for OO real mentor..Spencer.
Villains this season are truly interesting. Dai Shi...something's gonna happen there and really I feel bad for Jarod when he comes out of this. Camille kicks butt. Enough said there.
Now couples..Caselily all the way. Too cute for words. I think Fran and RJ could work out well to. And then there's Camille and Dai Shi if he ever sees her for what she is.
All in all, good season so far and I can't wait to see the new members of the team. I think it'll be interesting to watch them all grow and come into their own.

Well said Kim and Megan. I totally agree with you.
I'm really curious to see the new members too, I can't wait! I'm trying to not be spoiled, so have been avoiding sites, unless I'm looking for pics.

So, am I the only one who thinks that Theo is both completely in love with Lily and completely oblivious to that fact? I feel like he's always out to save/help her, he got desperately jealous when she started to hang out with Casey, and he ran to her aid in "Ghost of a Chance, Part I"... and he adamantly denied that he had a date with her in "Dance the Night Away." I don't know if the feelings are reciprocated (they don't seem to be), but I was wondering if I was the only one who saw this? I mean, I like the idea of Casey-Lily (they are cute), but I feel like there's another side to the triangle... Ah, unrequited love...

No, I do see that Theo's "got a thing" for Lily, but I'm not so sure he's oblivious to it. I think he just denies it to everyone, cuz he's afraid that it might ruin what they have, especially if Lily doesn't feel the same way for him -which I don't think she does. I think she just views him as her best friend.
There's definitely a triangle going on, even though the three don't really know it is. LOL

Okay, so this might be a little random, but in response to the "Love" Triangle, did anyone else notice how funny RJ's response to Theo was when Theo asked if he'd seen Lily in Can't Dance The Night Away? RJ's all "She's with Casey, getting her groove on" - maybe it's just me, but that seriously was a double entrandee (sp?) for me? She's with Casey, getting her groove on......it's just....it seriously sent my mind to the gutter, especially if you continue watching to the next scene and hear Casey calling out to her "Go Lil!"
Anyway, random, sorry, I'll go back and hide in the corner now.

ROFL! Rewatching that scene, I can totally see what you mean! Hehehe... and the whole Lil dancing for Casey while he just watches? No wonder Theo got nervous! ;D
